The Dreamland Tree is a long form, multi-part piece of instrumental music in the tradition of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn and Amarok.
Running at over 50 minutes, it demands a level of commitment, concentration and repeated listening to achieve its full effect but I firmly believe the effort is rewarded.
Themes and variations are stated, developed and intertwined across the course of its musical development and the mood alternates between exhilaration and relaxation.
I spent around two years writing it and some unused segments were recycled into its follow-up called Furniture Music, which will be re-released shortly.
